So here it is,
My first post on my first blog. Hopefully I'll continue this for a large portion of my life. To get started, my name is William (popularly known as Will) and I intend to become a filmmaker. Whether to write, direct or star in those films I am not yet sure.
The passion evolved from an incredible experience in Canada, where my family and I spent a year on teachers' exchange. Through the course of that year, I saw a great deal of the world and I began to feel passionate about telling stories. Watching thousands of people walk past me triggered thoughts of "Where are these people going?", "What are they doing?", "Why are they here?".
I'm aware this probably all sounds very pretentious, but thinking about where my passion started, sitting in my living room in Berry at 12.37am has led to the conclusion that it must have manifested itself at some time during 2007.
Years passed and after dabbling in amateur film-making with friends, I made my first short film entitled '43 for the junior Tropfest competition in 2011. I admit the production was generally very rushed but the experience helped me when processing the massive task of undertaking a potentially feature-length independent film set in my home town of Berry later that year.
The script, completed early 2012, is somewhere between 110 and 130 pages (depending on whose copy you have). It's title? 'A Deliberate Accident' and it is still in production. Co-directing with my friend Joe has been a very interesting and, at times, stressful experience. It's a murder mystery, a genre I am utterly obsessed with. News on ADA will be one of the most prominent subject on this blog in the next few months.
Hopefully, this blog will take me somewhere, and I hope that people notice some of the things I have been working on.
